Blocked from entering Syria, the UN-appointed inspectors arrived in Turkey to gather information about possible use of chemical weapons in the civil war. Swedish scientist Ake Sellstrom, head of the UN chemical weapons investigation team, met with Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu on Thursday afternoon in Ankara, after holding contacts with people who have been allegedly exposed to chemical weapons in Syria and also the physicians who have treated them in Turkey. During the meeting, Davutoglu said that use of such weapons in the century that we live in was embarrassing, adding that Turkey will continue to support the work conducted by UN against chemical weapons. For his part, Sellstrom expressed pleasure with regard to Turkey's cooperation on the issue.
