In the wake of Tuesday's border clash between Lebanon and Israel that left four dead, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu took to the phones to help reduce tension. Davutoglu made phone calls to US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to talk about the clash. Hariri told Davutoglu about the clash and the reasons for it. Davutoglu later called Clinton and in their half-hour conversation, both expressed concern about tensions triggering unrest in the Middle East and discussed steps to pursue peace in the Middle East.
