The Independent State of Samoa, a group of islands in the South Pacific Ocean with a population of approximately 200,000, requested two Turkish flags from the Turkish Parliament as part of its celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence. Samoa has conveyed the same request to every UN- member country, as well as the others conducting diplomatic relations with itself. The Turkish Parliament tried to fulfill the written request, but the request has not mentioned size of the flag. Afterwards, bureaucrats from the Turkish Parliament learned the size from officials from Samoa, and conveyed the country’s request to the Foreign Ministry. Consequently, two big-size Turkish flags from the Foreign Ministry were sent to Samoa.
