Iraqi Vice President visits Beylikduzu mayor

Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi yesterday visited Istanbul's district of Beylikduzu Mayor Yusuf Uzun. As part of his visit, Hashemi said that he has been visiting the developed municipalities in Istanbul to exchange information. "Turkey is a very well integrated country in terms of both politics and services. As our ‘elder brother,' we take Turkey as an example. We are a rich country, but we face certain problems, because we lack leadership capabilities with regard to producing services. We also see that local administrations in Turkey are very successful as well. We would like to benefit from your experiences in services here. I believe that once peace and services are ensured in Iraq, all the problems could be solved. At this point, Turkey's role is quite important," Hashemi said. Meanwhile, Uzun said that educational and cultural level in Behlikduzu was above average in Istanbul and Turkey, and gave information on the implemented projects and regular urbanization in the district.
