Israeli navy officer: "If necessary, Israel will use force against the flotilla later this month"
"One year after the deadly Israeli raid against the Gaza-bound Mavi Marmara aid flotilla, there are signs a new flotilla later this month could also face armed opposition. Speaking to reporters yesterday on vessels seen to violate Israeli security regulations, on condition of anonymity, an Israeli Naval officer said, "We will have surprises for activists," including the use of auxiliary forces. In case of armed conflict, the navy will retaliate, he added. Some 15 vessels are expected in the flotilla, up from six last year.
