Istanbul ranks first in Turkey's exports
Istanbul ranked first with highest exports in the first half of 2013. According to data released by the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), exports of Istanbul increased 3.1 percent compared to the first half of 2012 and accounted for $31.2 billion of Turkey's total exports of $71.4 billion in the first half of 2013. Textile products and ready-made clothing ranked the first in sectors among exports with $6.2 billion, and the goods exported to Germany made up $3.1 billion of Istanbul's exports. Furthermore, eastern province of Mus had the highest increase in exports with $28.2 billion, corresponding to an increase of 30.35 percent in exports in the first half of 2013, compared to the same term previous year.
