Istanbul to become internet hub
CEO of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Fadi Chehade announced yesterday that ICANN would open an internet management hub in Istanbul. During the launching meeting of "Istanbul Internet Management Center" which was also attended by Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim, Chehade said that it was not easy to manage ICANN merely from Los Angeles, and thus they have chosen Istanbul to open an internet management hub. "We have chosen Istanbul for its achievements, as well as for the courage and diligence of Turkish people. We will set up the whole team until June 1 and I will personally open the center," Chehade said.
