King of Norway hosts reception at Ciragan Palace

President Abdullah Gul and First Lady Hayrunnisa Gul attended a reception at the Ciragan Palace hosted by King of Norway Harald V and Queen Sonja yesterday evening. King and Queen welcomed the Presidential couple at the gate of Ciragan Palace. Afterwards, Turkish students attending the reception gave Mrs. Gul and Queen Sonja the paintings the theme of which was the sea and which were painted by Norwegian and Turkish students together. Earlier in the day, before proceeding to Istanbul, Norwegian King and Queen attended the Norway-Turkey Cooperation Forum in Ankara, which was also attended by Energy and Natural Resources Ministry Undersecretary Metin Kilci. Kilci noted that energy cooperation particularly in the field of hydropower would increase with Norway and King Harald V said that Turkey had a high potential of hydropower yet to be utilized.
