Kizilay provides Armenians with aid packages
The Turkish Red Crescent (Kizilay) yesterday provided the Armenian Patriarchate based in Istanbul with aid packages consisting of food and clothing to be delivered to Armenians in need. As he received the aid packages, Archbishop Aram Ateshian, deputy patriarch of the Armenian Patriarchate, responded to questions by reporters with regard to a recent French move to penalize the denial of Armenian claims of genocide. "We are in favor of solving our problems within our country and state. The second hands and opinions should not interfere in this issue. Otherwise relations between Turkey and Armenia would be cold and frozen. What's more, we wouldn't be able to obtain a result. Obviously, certain countries have other objectives with regard to their involvement in this issue" said Ateshian. Speaking in his part, Kizilay President Ahmet Lutfi Akar said that Kizilay was responsible for providing aid to everybody in need, irrespective of religion, language, race and gender.
