Kofi Annan set to arrive in Turkey today

UN-Arab League Envoy Kofi Annan is set to arrive in Turkey today for a visit to Syrian refugee camps near the border. During his visit, Annan will be accompanied by Interior Minister Idris Naim Sahin and some representatives from the Foreign Ministry. Following his contacts concerning Syria, Annan will proceed to Iran. Touching upon the importance of Annan's visit, Deputy Foreign Minister Naci Koru said yesterday that Annan would be briefed by the Syrian people on the incidents in Syria and that Turkey is not alone with regard to the issue.
