Leading businessman, IKSV head Eczacibasi passes away

Sakir Eczacibasi, chairman of the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and the Arts (IKSV) and a leading businessman, over the weekend passed away at the age of 81. The IKSV, established in 1973, was institutionalized under his helm and carved out a respected name worldwide by hosting five different international festivals. He was awarded France's Cavalier Medal of Art and Education as well as Turkey's Medal of Eminent Service. Eczacibasi will be laid to rest tomorrow at Istanbul's Zincirlikuyu Cemetery.
