Speaking at the 12th Turkish International Oil and Gas Conference, Ambassador Michael Lotem, special envoy for energy of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, said yesterday that transferring Israeli gas through Turkey to the international market is profitable for both Turkey and Israel and cooperation in the energy field could pave the way for resolving regional problems. Reiterating that gas shipment from the northern Tamah region to Israel has been initiated, Lotem said that the lowest-cost alternative with regard to transferring the gas extracted by Israel from the Mediterranean to Europe could be fulfilled by the Israeli-Turkish pipeline.
