Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy leader Faruk Logoglu and Istanbul deputy Osman Koruturk met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy on Tuesday. "During the meeting, current bilateral relations and the future of the relations were discussed. The Egyptian side emphasized the importance of these relations and urged Ankara to be careful in its relations with Egypt in order to avoid further straining of ties," said Logoglu. Stating that the future of relations between the two countries depends on the Turkish government's stance towards the interim government in Egypt, Logoglu said that Turkey should pursue a neutral and inclusive policy in Egypt. "We also discussed economic ties and requested that the Egyptian authorities provide agreeable conditions for Turkish businessmen to work in the country. To a large extent our requests were received positively by them," said Logoglu, adding that the visit aims to ease tensions between the two countries.
