After paying a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of neo-Nazi killings yesterday at the Parliament, German Chancellor Angela Merkel again touched upon racist tendencies in her speech at the Parliament. Merkel said that neo-Nazi killings against migrants not only posed a threat against Germany's image in the world, but also targeted the democratic institutions in Germany. In her speech, Merkel also listed the names of one Greek and eight Turkish victims of these killings, saying, "These attacks were all against our democracy. But we are determined to stand up for our tolerant life style against these disgusting criminals and their mean ideologies." Furthermore, German President Christian Wulff yesterday received the families of Turks, who were killed by an extreme rightist organization, at the Bellevue Palace in Berlin.
