The National Security Council (NSC) convened yesterday under the chairmanship of President Abdullah Gul to discuss changes to the "Red Book," a document outlining the main threats to Turkey's security. This was the first MGK meeting in which the new military commanders appointed this summer participated. The MGK members discussed changes to the document's section on domestic threats, including changes made earlier this year to the definition of religious reactionaries. In addition to the Red Book, the MGK also discussed other domestic and external threats as well as the fight against terrorism.
