The Ministry of Family and Social Policy has announced that it will allocate 4 million TL for 63 new projects to support disabled people this year, the biggest sum of money set aside for the disabled to date. With the support program prepared by the ministry in 2011, the government aims to increase awareness of the disabled and ease their lives. In the first year of the project, 2 million TL was transferred to governor's offices for 33 projects. With those 33 projects, approximately 500,000 disabled people were educated. The Ministry of Family announced that as of 2013 the number of projects would be raised to 63 and a record amount of 4 million TL would be allocated. The project is the first in the history of the republic in terms of its amount.
