Turkish steel company has gotten an invitation from the Nabucco International Company (NIC) to attend a status report meeting in Vienna for the Nabucco gas pipeline project, the steelmaker said Tuesday. NIC invited steel pipe producer Ozbal Celik Boru to attend an Aug. 22 meeting at its Vienna headquarters, Ozbal announced on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) website. Of six companies deemed to meet Nabucco's construction standards, Ozbal Celik Boru is the only one from Turkey. The pipeline's progress, stretching from the Caspian Sea to Europe via Turkey, will be the focal point of the meeting. Ozbal will participate in early negotiations of the project, and financing and technical terms will be discussed, the statement said. The participants will also discuss the project's logistics and procurement procedures. Over 2,500 kilometers of Nabucco will be in Turkey, meaning an investment of some $2.5 billion euros, said the statement.
