The National Security Council (NSC) meeting is set to gather today, chaired by President Abdullah Gul, in the farewell meeting for a number of civilian and military officials. As the new government has not been formed following the June 12 general elections, members of the outgoing government will take part in the bi-monthly meeting. Some Cabinet ministers are likely to lose their seats in a reshuffle and on the NSC as well. The board will discuss anti-terrorist efforts, the unrest in Syria that has led more than 10,000 Syrians to flee to Turkey, and other security-related issues.
