NATO sends a support letter to Cemil Cicek

Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek who has previously drafted a letter to parliaments of some countries and international organizations to highlight the incidents in Syria and Egypt and urge action on those issues on August 26 received a reply from Hugh Bayley, President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly. "I would like to thank you on your letter dated 26 August in which you highlighted your concerns regarding the turmoil in Syria and in Egypt," said Bayley in the beginning of his letter. Stating that they share the same hope as Turkey and referring to the revelation of nations towards living in more democratic and humanitarian ways, Bayley said they supported every action which would lead to democratization. Noting that they will add the issues of Syria and Egypt into their agenda during the General Assembly to be held on October 11-14, Bayley stated that they were looking forward to meeting Turkish officials during the Presidency Council to be held in Turkey on November 4-5.
