Obama receives congratulation message from Gul
Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Wednesday sent a letter to his US counterpart Barack Obama to congratulate him on his election victory. Addressing as "Mr. President, valuable friend," Gul said in his letter, "We are determined to preserve our model partnership and the positive atmosphere in our multi-dimensional relations. I am glad to re-affirm that we share a common vision to boost our relations further especially in economy and trade." Gul underlined regional and global importance of the relations between the two countries, saying that Turkish-US ties would make invaluable contributions to peace, stability and security in many parts of the world including the Balkans, Central Asia, North Africa, Caucasus and South Asia. In his letter, Gul also vowed to preserve what he called the "model partnership" between the two nations, adding that Turkish-American relations have been improved in the president's first term and that ties between the two countries have been strengthened.
