Palestinian President Abbas holds contacts in Ankara

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Ankara yesterday for a two-day visit to hold diplomatic contacts with top Turkish officials. Abbas was received by ambassadors of 20 countries, Ankara Deputy Governor Hayrettin Balcioglu and other officials at Ankara's Esenboga Airport. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu hosted a dinner on Tuesday in honor of Abbas, who is expected to meet with President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan today. Reportedly, developments in the Middle East as part of the Arab Spring, peace process in the Middle East and domestic reconciliation in Palestine will be the hot topics in Abbas' agenda during his talks in Turkey.
