PM Erdogan expresses condolences over tragic death of Polish President
Following Saturday's tragic plane crash in Russia that killed Polish President Lech Kaczysnki and 96 others, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his sincere condolences over the incident. "We hope what happened was an accident," said Erdogan. "I would like to convey my condolences on behalf of myself and the Turkish people." Speaking to reporters on Sunday before a trip to the US , he added, "In incidents similar to this, various causes have appeared after many years passed. We really do not want that to be the case here, too. So my hope is that it was an accident. (Russian President) Dmitry Medvedev has taken it upon himself to investigate the cause of the crash. What really happened will be clear following the investigation. We extend our condolences to the Polish people."
