PM Erdogan: "Those who forget their roots will vanish into history"

Speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of Foundations Week at Parliament, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "A tree lives through its roots, and no tree can exist without them. Those who turn back on their history will also become history." Erdogan also spoke about what his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government has done concerning the issue of private foundations. For his part, Foundations Directorate General head Yusuf Beyazit said that they were working to digitally preserve some 20 million obscure foundation documents.
