PM holds meetings with leaders at D-8 summit
On the sidelines of the D-8 summit in Pakistan, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan held contacts with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Indonesian President Susilo Pambano Yudhoyono and Egyptian Deputy President Mahmoud Makki. Reportedly, the situation following the cease-fire agreement which was reached by Israel and Hamas on Wednesday to halt attacks on each other and developments in Syria were discussed during the meeting. The meeting was also supposed to be attended by Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi, but he has canceled his scheduled trip to Pakistan due to the anniversary of mass opposition protests which took place in his country in November 2011.
