Delivering a speech yesterday in Istanbul at the Turkish-Indonesian Trade and Investment Forum held by the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) and the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board, President Abdullah Gul said that Turkey and Indonesia have the potential to reach a much greater trade volume in light of both countries' potential, adding, "It's up to businessmen to use this huge potential." He added, "Avoid saying that the distance is far. Take a look at the distance between the US, China, and Japan. Indonesia isn't farther." For his part, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhono said that Turkey and Indonesia can reach a trade volume of $5 billion by developing economic and cooperative ties between the two countries.
