President Gul receives order of Pakistan

President Abdullah Gul, currently visiting Pakistan, yesterday met with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari. Afterwards, Gul told a press conference that Turkey places great importance on peace and stability in Pakistan, adding, "In this respect we support your efforts to strengthen democracy, maintain national unity, and fight terrorism and fanatical movements, and appreciate them." For his part, Zardari said that they exchanged views on various issues and agreed on them, especially on common interests. In related news, Zardari presented the Order of Pakistan to Gul for his efforts to develop relations between the two countries.
