President Gul visits India

President Abdullah Gul, currently in India for an official visit, yesterday attended a session chaired by Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodities Exchanges (TOBB) head Rifat Hisarciklioglu. During the session, Turkish businessmen invited by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and the Turkey-India Business Council told Gul about the problems they face and the importance of state support for overcoming them. For his part, Gul said, "Every Turkish company abroad is like a company of the Turkish state. The Turkish state backs you up." In related news, Gul was decorated with an honorary doctorate by Amity University, a large private university with campuses in three Indian cities.
