Prominent Turkish companies join anuga food and beverage fair in Germany

Anuga, the world's largest and most important food and beverage fair, began over the weekend in Cologne, Germany. The fair was attended by 6,700 companies from approximately 100 countries. As part of the fair, Turkey ranks the fifth in terms of the participation rate with 238 companies. Deputy Chairman of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Dursun Topcu said that ITO has participated in the fair with 138 companies four years ago and then with 146 companies in 2011 and finally with 238 companies this year. "Obviously, the food industry in Turkey has developed to a great extent in recent years. Our trade volume currently amounts to $16 billion," Topcu said.
