A protocol between the Turkish Airlines (THY) and Ministry of Defense has been signed on Thursday for free-of-charge transportation of 250,000 conscripts and sergeants so that they can easily reach the towns where they are completing their compulsory military service. Turkey’s Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz and Transportation, Maritime and Communication Minister Binali Yildirim signed the protocol in a ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Yilmaz said, "The protocol would be implemented in 142 THY routes as from December 28, and conscripts and sergeants will also be able to use private airlines at cheaper prices as well.'
