Rench model for women's employment to be implemented in Turkey
Speaking to the Milliyet daily on Friday, Family and Social Policy Minister Fatma Sahin said that the new reform package aimed at boosting women's employment would introduce a model similar to the one in France, where women's employment rate is 69 percent and 40 percent of it is ensured by the flexible working model. Responding to concerns of private sector employers about the reform package the ministry is currently working on in Ankara, Sahin said that they have studied examples from around the world on women's employment and took into account the concerns of not only the women, but also the private sector employers. "The reform package includes a process that will make women's employment easier and remove the obstacles faced by the private sector," Sahin pointed out, adding that a team of experts from the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Finance have studied all possible options while drafting the package in order to alleviate the burden on employers. "As a social state, we take all the expenses and do not put an extra burden on anyone," said Minister Sahin, adding that concerns of the private sector about the package stemmed from a lack of information and that the business world would thank the government, once the reform package was announced.
