Renowned Turkish singer Muslum Gurses dies

Renowned Turkish singer Muslum Gurses, who had been in intensive care for the last four months, died on Sunday in an hospital in Istanbul. President Abdullah Gul expressed sorrow over Gurses' death, saying that he would continue to live in our hearts with his songs. For his part, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Gurses was a gifted singer who has influenced many generations with his songs. "May Allah forgive his faults. I would like to offer my condolences to his family, friends and all of his fans," added Erdogan.
