Failing to pay the fine imposed by Danish court, Kurdish broadcaster Roj TV has declared bankruptcy. Danish court found Roj TV and its producer Mesopotamia Broadcast guilty of “inciting terrorism” and fined them 10 million Danish kroner (1.4 million Euros). Roj officials said the fine was too much for them to pay, which resulted in the decision to go bankrupt when the court refused to wait for a higher court’s decision on the matter. “The banks were not willing to cooperate with us either, so we had no chance but to declare bankruptcy,” Roj TV General Director Imdat Yilmaz said.
