Safak pavey eceives international women of cıorage award

The Republican People's Party (CHP) parliamentarian Safak Pavey was honored by a US award that recognizes women who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in 2012 in advocating for women's rights. The US government marked the International Women's Day by recognizing 10 courageous women who fight for human rights and equality with an International Women of Courage Awards ceremony. The award ceremony was hosted by US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, along with First Lady Michelle Obama attending as a special guest. Pavey was presented the award for promoting the rights of women, minorities and the physically disabled in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa since she won a seat in Turkish Parliament in 2011.
