After completing his four-day contacts in Singapore and Hong Kong, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek returned home yesterday. Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Simsek said that he has met with his counterpart from Hong Kong, as well as a great many international investors and informed them on the political, macro-economic and structural outlook in Turkey. "The investors who have listened to us told us that Turkey would become more important in their portfolio among other developing countries including Korea and Mexico. We saw it clearly that Turkey will attract more international investors in the upcoming years," Simsek said, adding that he has also told investors that Turkey was unable to successfully manage the process of soft landing and that it had sufficient room for maneuver in case of any negative development.
