Syrian opposition seeks Turkey's help

As meetings on reorganization of Syrian opposition continue in Doha, Ankara has welcomed leading figures of the opposition one after the other. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met former Syrian Prime Minister Riyad Hijab, the most senior politician to defect from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime, yesterday in Ankara. Hijab who supports the Free Syrian Army (FSA) asked for Turkey's help to be involved in new administrative level.  Davutoglu and former Syrian prime minister, who has defected and started to back Syrian opposition, met in early hours and had talks on the latest developments in Syrian opposition's meetings which is underway in Qatar. According to information obtained, the reorganization of opposition was also discussed within the context of meeting. Sources stated that contact between Davutoglu and Hijab continued even through phone, reminding Hijab's visit to Istanbul in September. Reportedly, subjects such as the Syrian refugees in Turkey and assistance for them were also discussed. Hijab has defected in August and has taken shelter in Jordan.
