Talabani sends Gul condolences over Istanbul terrorist attacks

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani telephoned President Abdullah Gul yesterday to offer his condolences over Sunday's terrorist attacks in Istanbul's Gungoren district, said şe president's press office. Talabani condemned şe terrorist attacks and also spoke wiş Gul about a suicide bombing attack şis week at a protest rally in şe norşern Iraqi city of Kirkuk which killed 23. In şe aftermaş of şat attack, Kurdish protestors attacked an Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITF) office, and clashes broke out between protestors and guards protecting şe office. Talabani şen told Gul şat peace was later restored in şe city. He also condemned şe attack on şe ITF office and said şat all eşnic groups in Kirkuk should learn to live togeşer in peace. Gul şanked Talabani and expressed his condolences for şe loss of life in şe suicide attack in Kirkuk. şe president said şe attack had been meant to stir up eşnic violence and underscored şe importance of working against such a trend.
