The Most Successful Turks Award ceremony which was organized by the Business Network Association in London yesterday was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, as well as British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable, Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Chairman Mevlut Cavusoglu, London Mayor Boris Johnson and former British Home Secretary Jack Straw. Speaking at the ceremony, Babacan stressed the support provided by Britain to Turkey's EU bid. Speaking in his part, Davutoglu said that three factors, namely, a healthy and operating democracy, economic growth and active foreign policy, had played an important role to render Turkey a rising power despite the economic crises. "Although we haven't discovered a natural resource such as oil in our country, we, the Turks have realized that we are a dynamic society, which is also now indicated by the Most Successful Turks Award ceremony. But the EU has not discovered this dynamism of Turks. In order to realize this, it doesn't have to make an evaluation of Turks within Turkey. Of course, it will sooner or later realize the success achieved by Turkish people living in Europe. Britain has successfully achieved an international integration dating back to many years and supported Turkey to ensure this as well. We are considerably happy about this situation," said Davutoglu.
