Three Turkish sailors die in a ship collision
A Turkish merchant ship, namely, Reina 1, collided with the car ferry Ankara and sank in the Adriatic Sea, resulting in death of three sailors yesterday. The Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs stated that the car ferry Ankara which headed from the Albanian port of Durres to the Italian port of Bari had not suffered from any loss of life. The statement added that the Reina 1, loaded with 3,100 tons of aluminum sailing under a Maltese flag and consisting of an entirely Turkish owner and crew was navigating from the Russian port of Novorosisk to Bar, Montenegro. The Undersecretariat added that search activities were underway with use of one helicopter, four boats and two ships.
