Turkish citizen Dogan Tugay, honorary British consul in Marmaris, a resort town in the Aegean Region of Turkey, has been honored by Queen Elizabeth II with Membership of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE). Reportedly, Tugay, who has served as the honorary British consul in Marmaris for the past 20 years, has been deemed worthy of the award in recognition of his services to the British community in Marmaris and of his tireless efforts to promote UK-Turkish relations over many years.
