Turkey's main landline operator this week signed a 250 million euro loan deal with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to improve broadband infrastructure to rural areas. Turk Telekom will use EIB financing for projects to modernize broadband Internet infrastructure in rural areas and reduce the digital divide between Turkey's rural and urban areas, the company said in a statement yesterday. The eight-year loan has a two-year grace period.
