Turkey reaches out to space with 22 engineers

22 Turkish engineers, who were sent first to France and then to Japan in regard to satellite technology transfer program in accordance with the decision made by the Council of Minister in 2005, will lead the design and production of a domestic satellite project. Turkish engineers selected from a competent group in satellite technologies, will begin their duty in the Turkish Satellite Production Center. Turksat General Manager Ozkan Dalbay stated that engineers were sent for training within the scope of a ten year plan and said, "We have initiated the works for designing and producing a unique and domestic communication satellite with the engineers."
