Turkey set to start talks on Sinop nuclear plant in Japan next week
Turkey will discuss a planned nuclear plant in Sinop with Japanese officials next week, said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz yesterday. Speaking during a meeting with World Energy Council head Christoph Frei and Sureyya Yucel Ozden, the head of the World Energy Council's Turkish National Committee, Yildiz said that in addition to Japan , they will also look at proposals from other countries. "Currently there are three teams from the Energy Ministry working on three different issues," he said. "We need to complete this work on Turkey 's energy needs as soon as possible and make up for the time we've lost so far towards building the power plant."
