In a written statement released on Tuesday, Customs and Trade Minister Hayati Yazici stated that the Turkish government has temporarily closed the Yayladagi border gate for security reasons, two weeks after the bloody twin car bombing attacks in the Reyhanli district of the southern province of Hatay which left 51 people dead and dozens more wounded. "We're closely observing and controlling the border gates between Syria and Turkey. We've closed Yayladagi border gate after the sad event in Reyhanli to prevent suspects" flee. We've emphasized the situation since then and decided that security risks are quite high. It's the only gate where people from Syria enter and get out of Turkey," Yazici said.
