Turkey to attend significant summits worldwide
A great many cities in the world are set to host important summits as from today. Within this framework, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday traveled to Los Cabos, Mexico to attend the G20 Leaders' Summit, and he was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek. Erdogan was welcomed by Mexican Foreign Ministry's Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human RightsJuan Manuel Gomez and Turkish Ambassador to Mexico Ali Ahmet Acet, as well as relevant officials at the Los Cabos International Airport yesterday. As part of the summit, Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) Chairwoman Umit Boyner will convey TUSIAD's opinions in sessions related with trade and investment, as well as financing the growth and development. Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu is also due to speak to the B20 business summit as a member of the B20 Task Force on Employment. Furthermore, Rio+20, the short name for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on June 20-22 and attended by a delegation to be chaired by Erdogan. Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergun is set to travel to the US to attend the International Convention of Biotechnology (BIO) today in Boston.
