Turkey to be presented at Davos summit
The Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum which brings together the leaders shaping the global economy commences today. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan protests the Davos Summit once again and he is not participating to the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum which takes place in Switzerland to last for four days. As one may recall, Erdogan hit the headlines in Davos in 2009 by his storming off after a heated debate on Gaza with Israeli President Shimon Peres through his "one minute" scold. Criticizing Peres on using disproportionate force, Erdogan accused the moderator of not acting impartially and Peres whose voice had risen said he did not think he would return to Davos. Hence, this year, Turkey will be represented by Turkey will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, Forign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Family and Social Policies Minister Fatma Sahin and Central Bank Governor Erdem Basci during the forum, in which all the dimensions of the economic crisis will be discussed and the strategy followed by Turkey during the crisis will be presented to the participants. Leaders and economists all around the world will participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum to carry out evaluations regarding the current global economy. A large number of representatives from the Turkish business and art cirles will be attending the meeting, including Arzuhan Dogan Yalcindag, Mehmet Ali Yalcindag, Guler Sabanci, Ferit Sehenk, Ahmet Calik, Cuneyd Zapsu and Tuncay Ozilhan.
