Turkey's first national satellite in orbit

Turkey’s first observatory satellite manufactured by Turkish engineers, RASAT, is launched into space yesterday from the Yasny Base in southwestern Russia. The launch vehicle carried six more satellites from Nigeria, Ukraine, Italy and the USA. The satellite images provided by RASAT will be used in urban and regional planning, forestry, agriculture and disaster monitoring.
