Turkish business circle holds contacts in Nepal

The first high-level of business visit to Nepal from Turkey was held by Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) Deputy Chairman and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) Chairman Murat Yalcintas and an accompanying delegation. Yalcintas traveled to Katmandu upon the invitation of the Nepal Investment Promotion Agency and met with Nepal’s Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai. During the meeting, ways to improve trade and cooperation between Nepal and Turkey were discussed. Yalcintas said that in case direct flights to Katmandu were initiated by Turkish airline companies, tourism and trade sectors of the two countries would improve, adding that the country which hosts the Mount Everest offers great tourism opportunities. For his part, Bhattarai defined Turkey as the busiest gate opening to the West with a strong economy and potential, and invited Turkish businessmen to make investments in Nepal.
