Turkish documentary awarded at Jewish Eye World Film Festival
A documentary named "Turkish Passport," depicting a group of Turkish diplomats' efforts to help many Jews escape death at the hands of the Nazis during the World War II, won the best full-length documentary award at the Jewish Eye World Film Festival. Speaking about the documentary which is sponsored by the Faculty of Communication of Istanbul's Bahcesehir University (BAU), EnverYucel,Chairmanof the Board of Trustees ofBAU, said that the documentary tells the story of Turkish diplomats who have chosen not to remain indifferent to one of the most embarrassing massacres of history to save the Jewish people living in Europe. The documentary has been also shown at prominent US universities such as Harvard, NYU and Yale.
