Amid stepped-up US efforts to put companies that trade with Iran on a sanctions list, a Turkish company is now expected to sign a gas deal to import 4 million cubic meters of Iranian gas to Turkey. Iranian Deputy Oil Minister Javad Oji said Iran will deliver 3-4 million cubic meters of gas a day to the private Turkish company, adding that the deal is separate from the current export agreement to supply Turkey with 25-30 million cubic meters of gas, Iran's state-run Press TV reported on Monday. Without naming the company in question, Oji said that it needs Iranian natural gas to convert into liquefied natural gas for the Turkish market. The Iranian officials said the deal will be signed this year.
