Turkish Foreign Ministry condemns Al-Assad's regime
A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry yesterday condemned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime for its policies of oppression against its own people, which are turning the country into a bloodbath, although Damascus has accepted Arab League's initiatives aimed at ending violence in the country. The statement said that Turkish Foreign Ministry was indignant by an increase in violence against civilians in Syria resulting in killings of innocent people, including children. Speaking to the American National Public Radio (NPR), Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's chief foreign policy advisor Ibrahim Kalin said that Turkey was against a military intervention in Syria at this point, adding that Assad's regime has been totally isolated in the region and that it is not legitimate anymore in the eyes of people.
